Car Problems

So it was Friday morning and I got up early and went to Jiffy Lube to get an oil change. They did there usual oil change and always trying to get more out of you by telling you that you will get better gas mileage if you use this synthetic fluid, blah, blah, blah... So one the things the guy told me at Jiffy Lube was that I needed to clean my battery terminals, that would of cost about 20 more dollars than I wanted to spend, so I said, "NO, but thanks." I got in my car and drove home.
I got home around 10:15am, and needed to leave at 11:30am for an appointment. So I packed up a bag full of clothes because after my appointment I was going away for the weekend. I get in my car and it doesn't start!! I called a friend who knew something about cars, and he said that it was probably my starter. Great another 400 dollars I could of saved!
I call AAA, they will be at my house in 25 minutes, so I found a place to service my car. The tow truck driver shows up and asks what's wrong, I say,"It wont start." He tells me to give it a try again, I turn the key with disgust, because I know its not going to work, but to my dismay, it starts! "What did you do!?" I said. All he did was tightened this bolt that was connected to the terminal on my battery and he said, there you go.
apparently at Jiffy Lube, those oil guzzling jerks forgot to tighten a bolt on my battery after they loosened it.
And everything was fine.

Catcher in the Rye

I finished the book the other day and there was one part of the story that has been sticking with me, it has been talking to me, i thought that the author wrote it to me. If you have ever read Catcher in the Rye, its near the end, if you haven't, let me set the scene a little.
Holden Caufield, the main character, was in his home town staying the night at a friends house, Holden is only 17, but this man is in his late 20's early 30's, his name is Mr. Antolini. Holden looks up to this guy and often seeks advice from him. Holden is going through a rough time in his life, trying to figure out who he is and what he wants to do with his life. This is what Mr. Antolini had to say, "The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of a mature man wants to live humbly for one."
This is how i think that we should live our lives for Christ. He doesnt want us to die for him, he wants us to live for him. If we just dwell on dying for Christ, how are we supposed to make an impact on the world?

Take the Lead

So my mom has been on my case for the last 2 weeks or so to go see this movie "Take the Lead." Its this Antinio Banderas picture that has a lot of dancing and good morals. If you like dancing, especially ballroom dancing, then this movie is for you. I went and saw it with my roommate... its not a chick-flick. The students, who play a big part in the movie are quite hilarious. I highly recommend this movie, if you want to go see a "feel good movie."
I read another 75 pages in Catcher in the Rye, its amazing. I hope the author saved the best for the last 75 pages or so.

Books

Today i bought two books, The Catcher and the Rye and Great Expectations. I already read the first 75 pages in CITR, in about 2 hours. I would like start reading lots of books. There is so much interesting literature and mind dwelling novels that i think I am missing out on.
Before i went and purchased those books i should have read in highschool, i watched some amazing sports on the television today. I watched the Giants fall to the Rockies in 10 innings, and the Lakers lose game one to the Suns in the opening round of the NBA playoffs.
So much to say, lets see how much i can get out in these upcoming posts. I plan to write one everyday, lets see how long that lasts...
