Asset Conference

So I went to Minnesota for 4 days and attended the 10th annual Asset Conference. There were 1500 people there; I would say about 25% were youth, but for the most part the conference involved very interesting work-shops. The very first work-shop that I attended was my favorite:
It was about a High school that focused very much on there freshmen. This campus was dedicated to freshmen; they had a social worker and a psychologist all to themselves. There English, social studies, and science classes were all blocked, which means the same 30 people were all 3 classes together. Everyday the block teachers would get together and discuss there students, they would go through every name.
Another thing that they did was, send these kids on a retreat for 2 days in the middle of the year.
The best that they did was "I" Times. These were activities to explore the interpersonal student. They would dig deep into their thoughts, and these activities would allow them to express themselves without feeling uncomfortable.
All in all the conference was great! I got to go to the Mall of America, that place is ridiculous. It is the size of 4 nice malls put together. It has an amusement park in the middle, and an aquarium at the bottom. I could not imagine being there during Christmas!

Bridge School Benefit

So 10/21/06 was my first main stream concert that i have ever attended. Marissa bought my ticket for $45, and it was well worth it. We showed up at Shoreline at 2pm, but the show didn't start until 4pm. So we tailgated for 2 hours, we had peanuts, sandwiches and beer. So right at 4pm we walk in, and the place is packed!!! It was sold out. The First 2 bands were no names, literally, the first band didn't have a name when the show started. Then the band that i have been waiting to see for such a long time came on...
Death Cab followed by,
Foo Fighters,
Trent Reznor(lead singer of NIN),
Brian Wilson,
Pearl Jam,
Dave Matthews,
and of course the host Neil Young.
Some of the best parts of the concert for me were the intermissions... people were throwing torillas everytime a band was done. So we would catch them and try to hit a certain someone we were currently annoyed with. Phil and I spotted 2 different people that we were aiming for; one lady that was standing up the whole time wearing a vest with 2 beers in her hands. At one point while we were aiming at her and coming close with torillas, Phil actually hit her and we heard her say,"Are people aiming at me?" The other person that we singled out was a big heavy set bald guy, who was doing an annoying dance. I threw a corn torilla that flew that grazed his "teet," it was hilarious...
We didn't get up to leave Shoreline until 1am... 9hr concert. Brian Wilson's set was so good! He played so many oldies and great songs that it became a nostalgic event for myself. Foo Fighters were spectacular, they played all there great hits, starting off with "Everlong". Trent R. is amazing by the way, he played "Hurt," which is amazing. Great Concert all in all. I don't think i could have a better first time concert than this... Thanks M.

Do you believe in magic?

Well i hope you do...I have always been one of those people that has to see to believe. But after further research, I don't believe that anymore.
I have friends who say they have seen a ghost or believe that they have encountered some apparition of some sort. Over the last year or so I have begun to believe that magic is real. There are many magicians but David Blaine comes to mind. He can do tricks that no one can explain. Why? Because they might actually be real.
I recently took a class by Dr. Nystrom @ William Jessup University. It was a class on the Gospels and Jesus. It was an amazing class and i learned a lot. One of the ideas that was brought up in class was the fact Jesus made miracles. Now what was interesting to me was the what i heard next... There were also other people who could make miracles during the time of Jesus. But the miracles that they did were used for their own good and fame. Where as Jesus' Miracles were never for His own benefit.
I recently just watched "The Prestige." Great movie about magicians, go figure... Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, and Michael Caine made this movie incredible. Go see it!!! I guess I am still in that movie phase were I am not sure what reality is yet. Kind of like waking up from a very real dream.
Magic is out there, just don't be surprised by it, when its true.

Sunday Mornings

For some reason, in which i hope to explain in this post, I do not want to go to a church where someone sees me.
It seems as if people look down on me becasue i do not attend church every sunday. I am tired of people checking up on me, to see if I have been to "church," lately. I just want to walk into church and be invisible, so that no one can see me. I will go when i want to. Just because I am not at church doesnt mean i dont think about God or fellowship with my friends. I can worship God in my car on the way to work and get my "fill," there. By the way i hate that term.
I havent been to church on a sunday morning for quite a while, and I am extremely happy. Ever since i moved to Rocklin, i have had a jaded view of the church, which I am still trying to figure out if that is valid.
Lately it has bothered me that there are some people out there, that are so sheltered only know one way to Glorify God, and there way is the right way. I am trying to find a place where i dont see those people, they tend to bring me down quite a bit.

Fall 06'

Well as summer camp started to end, I knew that I was in need of a job. I heard of a job opening up for a teen director position. I applied, knowing it would be great to have a full time job and I could start to make some money at a job I thoroughly enjoyed.
After a couple interviews I got the job, well sort of. My title is Youth and Teen Coordinator. Great flexible hours and good pay.
I love my job and have a lot of responsibilities: Oversee teen center, m-f 3pm-8pm. Oversee noontime sports program at Allen elementary school and Almaden elementary school (soon to be Baldwin elementary school as well). I teach two classes at High schools, Pioneer and Broadway (continuation school). I teach life skills at Broadway and a volunteer program at Pioneer.
There are a few other things that I have to do, but for the most part it is really enjoyable. Next week I get to go to Minnesota, for an Asset Conference. Very Exciting!

Summer 06

So summer camp started. I was very nervous for this to start. I have never been a director before this summer, and I was in charge of 25 junior higher.

Tuesday 9:00am go to Blackberry Farms; 6:00pm go home.
Wednesday 9:00am go on big field trip (Great America, Raging Waters, San Francisco Zoo...) 6:00pm go home
Thursday 9:00am go swimming in Santa Clara or on site. 6:00 - 7:30pm weekly meeting
Friday 9:00am go to a park or go swimming; 6:00pm go home.
Sat and Sun. Call parents and program -3hrs. Total Hours worked a week? 50 - 54 average.
That’s why I was so busy this summer!!!
So before the summer started I had to go to a director's training at the Y. As soon as I walked in my eyes met with an extremely good looking girl. I knew right away that she was an interesting girl. So I sat down and looked right across the table and saw a girl that I went to Homecoming Dance with in 98! In was not a good time, it was my first dance and I think she liked me, but I didn’t have the same feelings. So the rest of the summer that was the joke in the camp, Tim and Roja...
A couple of weeks later all the directors and leaders had to go to training. Everybody who worked for the Y in the summer, in the Santa Clara County was there.
One session of training this beautiful girl Marissa, the same one I was telling you about, leans over and says, "So, are you cool to hang out this summer?" I knew exactly what she meant, hanging with the group of workers, going out to dinner with lots of people, etc... But I replied, "With just you?" She began to stutter and feel extremely uncomfortable, I said, "Just Kidding! Totally we all should hang out." I knew from that moment that she liked me, and that I was really interested in getting to know her more.
In the next few weeks, it was up and down about how I felt about her. I wasn’t sure if she had a boy friend or if she just liked wearing rings. A bunch of us went to the beach one Saturday and she and I were supposed to go together, but at the last minute when I was getting ready, my phone rang... before I looked at who it was I knew it was her (she had never called me before), While talking to her, she said that she was already at the beach and that I had to meet this really cool guy she knows... How does she know him, how well, are they dating, is she interested in me??? I instantly jumped to conclusions. So I thought that our flirting was over. I show up at the beach and she is sitting right next to some guy I don’t know!!! Come on!!! What luck, I finally meet some girl that is beautiful, not a bitch, fun, has a great smile, everything that I have ever wanted and she has a b/f. Well this sucks.
So after the beach we drive back to the Y and then we go to the Branham Lounge, all of us. So Marissa and Ryan (the other guy) are there and about 15 minutes into the night at the bar and I find out he has a g/f, that is not there!!! Hallelujah!!! So as the night went on, I was sitting next to Marissa and she and I were doing that almost touch things (It’s a great feeling). Finally she grabbed my hand and like they say... the rest is history...We had a few speed bumps to get through but now I am happier than I have ever been, happier than I have been with any girl ever!!!
PS - She can cook too!!!!

Spring of 06'

Well I moved out of Rocklin May 28th. Going back to April 13th, I decided that I wanted to move out of there. So I had three decisions: move home with my parents, move back to LA, or move back to San Jose. I ran through my head, trying to figure out who I could live with(I knew it had to be someone where I could have my own room! No more roommates!). So I gave my good friend Scott a call, he owns a house in San Jose. So I said to myself, if he doesn't have room I am going move to Southern California. I called him up and it just so happens that someone was moving out June 1st. Wow! So I took it. From April 13th - May 28th, were the longest six weeks of my life!!! But now I knew I was moving to San Jose, and that I didn't want to go back to school anytime soon, but I needed a job. So I was hanging out with my friends Brad and Cori one day and I over heard a conversation between Cori and old friend of mine Jessi Shute. Jessi worked for the YMCA and needed camp leaders and camp directors. I knew that I could get a job as a camp leader, but I wanted more money and felt I could be a Camp director. Needless to say I got the better job and eveything went great this last summer. Camp went from 6/21 - 8/19.
Right before Camp started I went on a cruise to Catalina and Mexico! My roommate graduated from San Jose State University and was able to bring someone on a cruise that his mom and grandma gave him for his graduation present. My next Blog will talk about Camp and one of the most beautiful girls that I have ever met.

I am Back...

And So are the Sharks!!! Woo Hoo!!! 1-0!!! Since my last post sent me into a dwindling spiral of never blogging, i thought this would be a good time to reinterate myself. To all of those people who read this... Jon, Brian, Drew... well to you 3 here i am. A quick update on the season, Joe Thorton already has 3 points, it looks really good.
I plan to start updating everyone on what i have been doing... Maybe in the next few posts you can enter the mind of Tim Davidson.
Things I miss: 1 ugly fan on my bed attempting to cool my room down, 1 ugly Jon (JK), Jon repeating everything i say in a high pitched voice, or guessing what i would say next in that voice.(I am trying to use it on my girl friend and she just pays no attention to it). Drinking a protien shake out of a blender with no shirt on, just so Jon can see me. Endless conversations about how awful we sleep and how much our room smells from out extremeties. Last thing is... HILLSIDE, but not the church, just the word. Well my hats off once again to you Jon, you get the center of attention in my blog, i know you are happy now.
